Connect How did your love story begin?

Glitter was pursuing a music career while Mikey hosted an indie music award show and ran an internet radio station. Glitter and Mikey instantly connected, enjoying each other’s drive and passion for their work. Glitter’s manager and family friend however, did not like the connection that was building. Her manager did all in their power to keep the two apart, including manipulation and mental abuse, but love prevailed, after 2 painful years of being pulled apart and forced into seclusion.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The wedding day! The struggles we went through to be together were exhausting, and when Glitter walked away from her manager of 17 years, we were finally able to start a life together. We lived in a room of a friend’s apartment, as the music industry drained every cent we had. We began to build a life together, finding career paths and making life decisions. We found our first apartment, and continued to grow closer and stronger. Then Mikey proposed! We started to plan our big day.

What would you do with $20,000?

Now that we’ve settled into marriage, survived Covid, started training in martial arts, and founded a nonprofit providing martial arts to low income kids, we would 100% invest this $20K into our organization, Born Strong Foundation! We can help more kids become confident, heighten awareness, and de-escalate violent situations, which youth in our East Dallas neighborhoods encounter all too often. It would be an incredible blessing to be able to help the foundation in this big way.
