We understand that when you love someone, you want things for them, not from them. Generosity and understanding drive our partnership.
We would like to thank you for supporting Georgina & Ry in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Ry and I met at a friend's Holi-gay party. Ry noticed me and apparently thought "we'd have some fun," but I was in a relationship. A few months later, when I was single, we reconnected on a dating app, and I never thought this cool Brooklyn artist would have any interest in me. Luckily, I was wrong. After a few months of dating, a surprise grocery order was sent while I was out of town, and many expectations were exceeded later, so we decided to make it official.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Once Ry and I decided to be in a relationship and build a future together, we were pretty typical lesbians and moved in together and bought a home. Ry is a furniture and space designer and wood worker, and together we've spent the last few years really building a home together that will support the lives we want to lead. The endless late nights, weekends, and holidays, covered in paint, concrete, or wood chips, have created a true partnership that has carried into everything we do together.
What would you do with $20,000?We got engaged in May 2024 and haven't been able to plan a wedding. We have a big community and want to have a big celebration, but right now, it feels kind of impossible. This money would let us start planning our celebration with our friends and family and take that meaningful next step towards our future.
