Connect How did your love story begin?

Divorcing, I drove from Oregon to Texas to move back in with my parents. I stopped in Denver for a night and met Nick at a nightclub minutes before closing by my best friend “accidentally” dropping her phone between his feet. He was visiting for his bday. We discovered we were (soon) living 10 minutes away from eachother in Austin, Texas. Been together 2 years and the fire between us is now a supernova. We recently moved to NJ to help his father who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

During the full solar Eclipse of 2024 we got rained out of a music festival in Texas and we ended up making our own festival in the backyard complete with a tent, lights, music, snacks and the occasional downpour. We made the most of it but ultimately were able to connect on an even deeper level, and I wouldn’t trade that day for any music festival in the world now.

What would you do with $20,000?

Nick recently left his job as a journalist so he could move to NJ and help his family. Times are hard as a journalist and for me as a veterinary nurse to even make our bills every month. We would like to move into a house big enough to live with his parents without fear of making rent every month. My hope is to relieve his mom of solo caregiving and give Nick a bit more of what time is left with his dad, also named Nick, while he can still remember him.
