We met at our neighborhood grocery store, because we only live about a block from each other! Gavin made the first move and introduced themself, and from there we quickly became a couple.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We both treasured introducing one another to our families and showing off our hometowns. For Jude, that's Waukesha, WI, and Gavin was the first partner Jude had ever brought home. (Gav took quickly to Jude's family card games, complicated rules and all). Gav is from Ocean City, NJ, and they loved taking Jude to the boardwalk for minigolf, arcade games, and fried food. Jude also keeps Gav stocked with scented candles that remind them of home: they smell like the island's saltwater marshes.
What would you do with $20,000?As two theater artists, our first time working together was a big test of our relationship — but thankfully, it went wonderfully, and since then we've mounted several productions together as a playwright-director duo! With the $20,000, we'd like to return to the first show we ever worked on together, a play called 'Regicide,' and put half the money into giving it a full production here in New York City. We'd put the other $10,000 into savings to invest in our future together.
