How did your love story begin?

I was deployed to El Salvador working on humanitarian assistance projects alongside USAID. We met at the gym there and developed a friendship. As a foreigner working in his country, he helped me learn the culture, navigate the city, and coordinate more support for the schools we were repairing. Upon returning to the U.S. we couldn’t get each other out of our minds and decided it was going to be a forever partnership.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My favorite memory honestly can’t be pinpointed to one event. It’s every time we accomplish a goal we have set. It’s the consistency of small moments that we are together doing nothing but simultaneously feeling safe and loved. It’s the moments with our families that love and respect us no matter what. These little moments happen constantly throughout our marriage. I accredit this to how strong our relationship is. A successful partnership is one that values the small moments.

What would you do with $20,000?

Wilber and I are ready to be parents and start the next chapter of our journey. After 7 years of strengthening our love and pushing ourselves in our careers we have set the foundation to be dads. We have done the research on surrogacy and have a plan. This money will go straight towards that plan and enable us to take our love and share it with our child. Being active military and him being an immigrant we have prided ourselves on our resiliency. No matter what we will be fathers one day.
