We are a lesbian, neurodivergent, disabled couple so we are always leaning on each other to stand up taller.
We would like to thank you for supporting Fiona and Lauren in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We actually met on Tinder and were just friends for 4 months, but one night something felt different. I asked her to be “pretend girlfriends” with me at a concert that I wanted to see, and she went along with it. Everything went wrong and we didn’t end up going to the concert, but we had a romantic night of trying to go out and failing awkwardly in the rain. We ended up having a cozy night at my house and it the most exciting date I’ve ever had.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?I told Fiona I loved her in the emergency room. I had broken my hip last July and we were only together for 4 months, but she accompanied me to the hospital and stayed with me all night. The last time she was in a hospital was when she was born, so she was anxious. When she threw up in the trash can for the 9th time from the hospital smell, I thought, “wow, she really loves me.” When she sat back down, I told her I was falling deeply in love with her and she laughed because I was on morphine.
What would you do with $20,000?Fiona and I are both graduating school this year (we are both speech pathologists and we didn’t realize this until like 2 months in) and I would love to sweep her off her feet and get us a Chicago apartment with a cat. Some student loan funds would also be rockin’.
