Connect How did your love story begin?

During a routine HR audit, I felt instant chemistry with my client, Tom a widowed caring man who just lost his partner of 32 years. As a professional, dating clients was my biggest No, but after a total of eight hours of easy conversation, shared stories and undeniable connection I found myself texting my friends about Mr. Clean my secret nickname for this bald, motorcycle riding bass player who made me question all my rules. Sometimes the heart knows before the head catches up.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our wedding day at home in “The Treehouse”- intimate, perfect, just us. We hired a chef for a special meal and live jazz musicians but the best surprise? Tom wore a blue tux and did a costume change later that day. It wasn’t just a wedding, it was the most ‘us’ celebration imaginable. Dancing in our own space surrounded by music, great food and Tom’s playful spirit shining through that bold blue tux! It was pure magic and the perfect beginning to our forever!

What would you do with $20,000?

First, we’d donate to two Dayton, Ohio charities close to our hearts: The 10th Life (cat animal rescue) and Hospice of Dayton- causes that reflect our values of compassion and care. We’d save a portion for our future dreams then spend the rest on experiences together maybe a motorcycle trip or jazz festival weekend. Money is just a tool; what matters is using it to help others, secure our future, and create memories that last forever!
