Connect How did your love story begin?

We met the first day we moved in to college and he became our girl group’s collective “guy best friend.” For 7 years we remained that way and became actual best friends. During that time we were the “will-they-won’t-they” couple and we flirted back and forth but never acted on it. Finally, after a day of hanging out, Matt went to leave and before he walked out, kissed me! We’ve now been married for 7 years and have gone through a long distance, moving homes twice, and many travel adventures!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our 2nd anniversary was during the pandemic and it was right when Matt developed a Gordon Ramsey obsession. So, he decided to make us a gourmet dinner and set up our living room like a fancy restaurant, candles and menu included. While I was getting ready I smelled something burning. I shouted “everything ok?” Getting a quick “yep” in response. Turns out the menu had fallen in to a candle and caught fire! Thankfully nothing major happened but, we now have a framed burnt menu in our kitchen!

What would you do with $20,000?

We just bought our first house so we’d probably divide it up for a few different things! Matt is very financially conscious so, we would put some aside. While we don’t have kids now, we do want to start a family one day. We would also put some in to a home project like updating the kitchen (it’s very 80’s and brown at the moment.) We also don’t take many vacations that are just us so it’d be nice to use some for a weekend away! We love to go on adventures together so it’d be fun to go somewhere!
