Connect How did your love story begin?

We met in college when our friends (who were crushing on each other) dragged us to the same club meeting. After 4 years of friendship, we graduated, got jobs working for competing local news stations, and became roommates. 8 months in, we found ourselves at an alumni dance with friends. 1 John Legend song later, we were making out on the dance floor. We both went to work immediately after, and both of our co-workers said, "Finally!". 2 months later, Erin bought a ring.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It's hard to pick just one. There was the time during COVID when we individually walked through a dog shelter and unknowingly chose the same dog to adopt, or when we played hooky from work to go to an amusement park. But it's the quiet moments that bring the most joy. Like when Erin supported Mackenzie in a career change, or when Mackenzie helped Erin come out to her friends and family. At the end of the day, we just want to be around each other. Snuggled under a blanket by a warm fire.

What would you do with $20,000?

A few years ago, Mackenzie had to get surgery on her feet and wrist from sustaining multiple injuries, which unfortunately saddled us with a lot of medical debt. We would be thrilled to finally pay it off. We also dedicate a significant amount of our time to mental health advocacy, and would donate some of the money to the nonprofit we volunteer for, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The rest we'd use to spoil our two pups and take a trip somewhere in the world we haven't been yet.
