Erik and I are a great couple because we accept each other for the weirdos we are. I love YA fiction; he loves the NYT.
We would like to thank you for supporting Erik & Steph in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Erik and I met at work. I hired him as a podcaster and part time radio reporter/anchor at WGN Radio. We worked together for a year before any sparks flew. It wasn't a Demi Moore/Michael Douglas vibe or even Pam/Jim..it was just us being real- Erik and Steph. I was recently divorced with two little girls. He was the over 40 year old unicorn with no kids and never been married. We both hate pickles and we only hang our toilet paper over, not under.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? When we first started dating, Erik and I were sharing that we both loved Casablanca. We had only been dating 3 weeks. He asked if I had ever been to Paris and I said yes. He said that he hadn't- he was saving the trip for a "special girl." In my typical delusional fashion, I assumed that I was that special girl..I went online booked a trip to Paris for the two of us and surprised him with it for his birthday a couple of weeks later. I was a complete psycho clinger but we went. And fell in love.
What would you do with $20,000?Well, my gut reaction is to spend it all on a trip, but Erik's a saver. He's also turning 50 next year. So, we would save half (Erik's choice) and then splurge on a family trip to Tokyo for his 50th birthday Sept 15, 2026!
