How did your love story begin?

We matched on Bumble! Jourdan is a Colorado native and Emma moved to Colorado Springs to teach special education in 2022. In October of 2022 Emma swiped first on Jourdan because he was also an elementary education teacher and she thought that Jourdan’s profile was funny and that his smile was very charming. From our first date we were inseparable due to our similar senses of humor and zest for life. We now teach at the same rural elementary school outside of Colorado Springs.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

In the summer of 2024 we took our first road trip together around our home state of Colorado. Jourdan was able to show Emma the beauty of the mountains he grew up with. We were able to travel to Ouray, Colorado and Ridgeway State Park where Jourdan was able to rent a hiking wheelchair (trail chair) for the first time! This was Emma and Jourdan’s first time hiking together and it was really special. We will always remember being able to hike side by side on a beautiful mountainside trail.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000 we would buy a fully accessible trail wheelchair for Jourdan to be able to go hiking. He was paralyzed at 16 and prior to this would frequently go on hikes and climb 14,000 foot mountains around Colorado. Emma is also a lover of the outdoors. With this trail chair we would be able to finally partake in our favorite hobby together as well as explore the beautiful nature in our home state of Colorado. As two teachers this is a purchase we cannot financially afford at the moment.
