Connect How did your love story begin?

Emily and I met on a dating app for queer women called “Her”. She was visiting New York on a spur of a moment trip. To say it was love at first sight sounds cliche, but it’s true. Talking to Emily, it felt as if I had met someone from my past life; the piece of me that I didn’t realize was missing. Dancing with her to Chappell Roan’s “Naked in Manhattan” in pink lighting, I felt complete. It was Emily’s last day in town, I thought I was never going to see her again. We’ve been together 8 months.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It’s hard to choose just one memory. Every memory we have feels better than the last. But if we had to choose just one memory, it would be the one we call “our stoop moment”. It was the first time Emily came to officially visit me in NYC. We were in Hell’s Kitchen waiting for a friend, and we sat on an isolated stoop right outside a bar and had our first deep conversation. It was the first time we truly felt connected.

What would you do with $20,000?

We discussed possible uses for the money. We would love to move in together, being long distance is tough and we would love to finally be together and in our own home. We would also use the money to travel, go camping and discover the world. We’d probably also put some it into savings so we could always have control over our future, and be stable for whatever we plan.
