Connect How did your love story begin?

I (Megan) was walking outside my apartment one night in August 2023, and my neighbor was sitting on her balcony. She called me over to tell me that she wanted to get to know me as I’ve lived above her for 7 months and have never had a real conversation with her. During our talk I discovered her son who lived with her was my 12 year old middle school crush who had moved away after the 8th grade. He came home and when our eyes met I saw the Big Bang. I saw stars. I knew something was starting.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Probably when we realized we were falling in love. Emilio was in his head a lot, and vocalized to me(Megan) some of the things he’d been going through. Through all his words I felt my heart actually begin to expand and hold space for his entire being. I said “I don’t want to scare you but I think I love you. I love your mind and how you think”. The next day he, with tears in his eyes, told me “I think I love you…and I’m really scared” We were both terrified, to be honest.

What would you do with $20,000?

We got engaged in January and we are planning a budget conscious wedding for 2027! This would allow us to pay off our wedding expenses, not leave anyone off the guest list due to cost and begin our life together in our married partnership with our son (my step son). We are excited to solidify forever together in front of our friends and family!
