September 2015, after I escaped an abusive marriage and he lost everything in a house fire, we chose each other for good. He vowed no one would ever hurt me again, and I promised not to run from what was always meant to be: US!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?The proposal—simple, intimate, and totally unexpected. He came to my house, poured out his heart, and pulled out the ring. In that moment, it felt like the weight of the world lifted. I knew I had a partner for life—someone who always cherished me. If his friendship was any hint of the husband he’d be, I was in for a beautiful journey. It still brings tears to my eyes, knowing I was finally safe, seen, and deeply loved.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d sow into our local church’s outreach to uplift our community, pay down our college debt, and finally bring our dream 10-year vow renewal to life. We've walked through fire...literally and figuratively, and this would be a celebration of love that conquered it all.
