My grandparents knew each other in high school, my grandma was a beauty queen, and my grandpa an awkward basketball player with no time for dating. My grandma was smitten with him, but he never asked her out. After a while my grandma got impatient, went up to him in the hallway, and demanded when he was going to take her on a date! He did, and they’ve been together ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?This is my grandparents’ love story that I wanted to share. They’ve been together almost 68 years and have made a lifetime of memories. They helped my mom raise me, and my favorite memory of them will always be them showing me what love and a lifetime together should look like—with kindness, patience, respect, and laughter.
What would you do with $20,000?My grandparents aren’t the most extravagant people. With $20,000, part of the money would go toward doing something as a family—a nice dinner, a concert or show, a weekend away to see more family. The rest will probably go toward their next home project (or one of mine or my mom’s!)
