How did your love story begin?

After 27 years of friendship marriages and divorces we reconnected when I found myself needing a place to live. Don offered that to me and I confessed my feelings to him. Soon after moving into his cottage a romance blossomed and we both knew that we were on the road to a lifelong love story.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of the things that comes back to us all the time is reflecting on the day we moved my mother in with us. She was too ill to take care of herself after my father died and Don insisted that he bring her home to stay. It was a difficult time but we were able to keep her with us until she passed. We always marvel at how we got through that time even though it meant putting our our relationship on the back burner and working as a team to meet all of her needs and to keep her home.

What would you do with $20,000?

One of the things that both of us love to do is to take care of other people. We both agree that with $20,000 we would be able to change the lives of individuals. Friends, family and strangers. We know from experience that giving is so much better than receiving, there is no comparison in terms of how it makes you feel inside. His compassion is one of the things that I love so much about him. Which is really cool because he says the same thing about me.
