When I couldn’t bathe myself, he took care of me. We travel the U.S now starting churches. He does music. I write songs that play on radio.
We would like to thank you for supporting Doc and Mary Murphy in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
I visited my mom’s church. When I walked in, Doc was playing the drums. Doc said that the Lord said, “That’s your wife.” Super Bowl Sunday in 1995, I invited him to my mother’s house. He came. I told him that I would make him a plate, but I don’t want to offend your girlfriend. He said, “I don’t have a girlfriend. “ He went on to ask me if I had a boyfriend. I said yes. He said, “Do you love him?” I said no. He said, “break up with him.” I did. The rest is history
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?I knew my husband loved me, but this was icing. In 2021, I had surgery. I couldn’t do much of anything. He helped me get out of bed even if it was 3 in the morning He bathed me. He cooked for me. I had an accident. He cleaned me up without a fuss. I could tell that it was a pleasure for him to take care of me. It was the highlight of his love in action.
What would you do with $20,000?I would give $5k to the Everywhere Network of churches. We would spend 3k going to Ireland on vacation, which is a dream of mine that my husband has always wanted to do for me. I would invest 12k into a Whole Life insurance policy that I would use to pay off debts and put a down payment on the home we want to build.
