Connect How did your love story begin?

We met at a pool party that we were invited to by cosplay friends. Funny enough, Dean and I both almost did not attend! But we’re so happy we did. As a comic book nerd, my obsession in 2022 was the show, “She-Hulk.” I didn’t know anyone who was also into the show, but one mention of her name turned my head and there he was. At one point, we didn’t even notice that everyone had left the pool, with us being left outside to talk about our special interests. Since then, we have been inseparable!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We have shared so many moments together, but one of our favorites is when we met deaf actress, Alaqua Cox, in San Antonio back in the Summer of 2023 at a convention. Both Dean and I have a background in ASL and it was a wonderful feeling that we were able to sign with Alaqua prior to our photo op with her. Plus our entire trip in San Antonio was definitely one to remember!

What would you do with $20,000?

We own a small business where we sell comic books and toys at surrounding conventions in the DFW area. Our dream is to buy a bus, and completely convert it into what we call, “the Comic Mobile”, where Dean’s original character, Captain Comic, will have a mobile comic book store to take around to conventions and be able to partner with organizations that dedicate themselves to underprivileged children by providing them comic books and educational resources involving their favorite superheroes.
