Connect How did your love story begin?

I met Prince Charming at the ball. Really! Danny was handsome, funny, but when he asked for my number I wouldn't give it to him. I was shy. I promised him that if he gave me his instead, I would call him. I programmed his number onto my phone. Later that week, I called him by accident. I was trying to reach a dear friend in L.A., also named Danny. Best wrong number I ever dialed! On our first date his eyes were sincere, he made me feel seen. I knew right then I would marry this amazing man.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We've had an amazing life together, from trips to many countries, to cheering each other on to be the best we can be. We’ve helped each other overcome adversities (loss, trauma), have shared passion projects (made an award-winning short film, wrote a book, did live storytelling on TV), but our most favorite moments have been the birth of our two daughters. The tears of joy in his eyes, coupled by the sweet earthy scent of our newborns made me melt. My heart grew exponentially on both occasions.

What would you do with $20,000?

Travel has been a big part of our lives. He lived in Japan for 3 years and I’m originally from Colombia. We believe this is the best way to learn about the natural world, different people and their amazing cultures, and about ourselves. It's important we instill this in our daughters so that they can forge connections and find purpose in their lives. With $20,000 we would do a family Earthwatch expedition where we can volunteer alongside researchers to help conserve wildlife in the Amazon basin.
