Connect How did your love story begin?

Danni and Ruthie met 6 years ago when Ruthie went on a Women’s Retreat that Danni was part of organizing. Ruthie took one look at Danni, and it was love at first site, she had never felt like that before , so she knew this feeling was different. She immediately put the idea out of her head, as she felt there was no way Danni was single. However, Danni mentioned she was single after a tough year, and Ruthie immediately knew she had met her wife.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It is hard to nail down one memory that is a favorite of ours. Everyday we spend together feels like the very first day, and it is the best feeling to have married your best friend. We joke and say life is a never ending slumber party, and live it to the fullest. Danni was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian cancer, and after surviving it and going in to Remission for almost four years has made us feel the realness of our mortality and every moment together is cherished.

What would you do with $20,000?

We opened our bookstore almost one year ago, and have whittled away at our savings while building our brand. Business is amazing, and we have created a safe queer haven in our small community, but we want to see it grow. With this money we would rebuild some of our savings and pay off some personal debt we incurred, while growing our business. This money would be life changing, so we have decided to throw caution to the wind and hope that America agrees we are their favorite couple.
