How did your love story begin?

In spring 1993, while attending college in Virginia, Beth received a handwritten letter from a young man (Dan) from Minnesota who was seeking a pen pal. Our exchange grew into frequent letters and long phone calls. We met in person that August, became a couple and were engaged October 30th. Beth left college, moved to Minnesota and in August 1994 we were married. Our story was like a fairy tale. So much so that Dan even wrote a published romantic novel loosely based on how we met.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

For our 15th anniversary, Dan surprised Beth with a trip to Wilmington, NC inspired by our shared love of Nicholas Sparks movies and books - especially "A Walk to Remember" - Beth's favorite. Dan planned visits to several filming locations from the movie, making the trip extra special. The most memorable moment came at Orton Plantation where the film's wedding scene was shot. Inside Dan had arranged for a special anniversary gift to be waiting inside the iconic white chapel.

What would you do with $20,000?

We believe in the importance of giving back and supporting those around us. Our first contribution would go to our church to help fund its mission and community outreach. We'd also donate to the local food bank to help families in need. Since we love to travel, we'd plan a relaxing cruise and a fun-filled weekend in Las Vegas, where we honeymooned. Finally, we'd set aside a portion for future needs or opportunities that may come our way.
