Cristy & Rafael: Together since 2018, married in 2022. Growing, laughing, and creating a life full of love, travel ❤️
We would like to thank you for supporting Cristy and Rafael in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
After endless swiping, we signed up for a blind date. no names, no photos, just a time and place. We met at a restaurant on the beach. His name was Rafael, the same as my brother, late father, and his dad. It stopped me in my tracks. What started as one drink turned into dinner, dessert, and a barefoot walk to check the waves for my morning surf. Something about it all just clicked.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We took a spontaneous trip to the Florida Keys and, on a whim, decided to go skydiving. Nervous but laughing the whole way up, we held hands the entire time right until it was time to jump. Free-falling over turquoise waters was breathtaking and unforgettable. A true reflection of how we live and love: bold, joyful, and completely connected.
What would you do with $20,000?Right after getting married, we spent the past 2.5 years living abroad as expats in Europe. Now back home in the U.S., we’re planting roots in South Florida, where we both grew up and searching for our first home as a married couple. Putting $20,000 toward building that next chapter would mean the world to us. It’s not just a house, it’s the start of the life we’ve dreamed of creating together.
