One cold lonely night in December 1991, I went to a bar & sat next to a man nursing a Dr Pepper. We were both recovering from broken hearts & w talked all night. I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time..safe. Last call came, he got up, reached out his hand & says "so, you coming with me or what?" He's still not much of a smooth talker. Normally that would be a big NO, but I saw his hand trembling & his eyes so sweet & genuine. I took his hand that night & haven't let it go in 35 years.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We'd only been dating about a month when we went to his friends wedding in the Smokey Mountains. Afterward we walked around the small town & it was so cold. He took his suit jacket off & put it around me. We sat by the water & watched the sun set behind the mountains. Every time I looked at him, he was looking at me instead of the beautiful view. I knew we'd be together forever after that night. And I was right.
What would you do with $20,000?We would love to take our whole family on a trip. We've never been able to do something all together before. Life is about making memories & I'd sure love to make some with all of our family, the kids, grandkids, dogs, & whoever else we can grab on the way. And I'd love to be able to help with some college payments too.
