Connect How did your love story begin?

Fresh out of college, I moved from East Texas to NM. I was out with friends country western dancing and I saw him on the dance floor, I asked HIM to dance and that lasted all night. I got left and no way home 45 miles away. He took me home. The next weekend I asked HIM to a movie, he said he had a family reunion. At the reunion his grandmother told me, “if you really like him, I have pull”. We met Aug 7 1981, engaged Sept 13 1981, married March 27, 1982. 43 years of craziness.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

How can you pick one? Maybe the look on his face, the day we took our first flight together after he got his pilots license. The excitement and the misbelief that I would go with him on his first flight with a non pilot passenger. He said “ you trust me with a new license? Yes, with my life as I have always. He was over 50 years old when he got the license and we go whenever we can. Watching our grandsons watch out the windows is amazing. Their little eyes light up.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would love to say travel, do some fun things to our home, etc but realistically probably, help my daughter pay for 3 boys to go to college. She is single mom finishing nursing school herself. So there is college, cars, sports etc ahead for all 3 of them. A summer family trip with the boys would be great too. They won’t be little long……we are blessed with our life.
