We were in a Facebook group and randomly started talking and the conversation would go from flirty to geopolitical talk to music to childhood memories. After a month we were in love without meeting. A month after that we met in person and it was even better. We meet once a month between Chicago and Birmingham until we can be together forever in one location one year from now when our kids graduate high school. It has been a lifetime of mismatched love and now we feel like kids again!

On one trip we met halfway in a cabin in Kentucky. I woke up at two am and my phone had failen out the window. We went outside to get it just as storms were rolling in. We sat on the porch and held hands and watched a biblical rains visit us. It rained violently and nonstop for the next two days on the metal roof of our cabin while we cooked and danced and fell in love all over again. The morning we left it stopped and we took a Sunday walk in the flooded forest.

We are both only parents- I am a school social worker and he is a steel worker. We can’t wait to be together in one year full time, but it is going to take a lot of saving money and work. This would jumpstart our lives to have a nest egg and be able to put a down payment on a house and take a trip where we get to come home TOGETHER. Finally! 🖤
