Connect How did your love story begin?

Colin, an educator and yogi entrepreneur from Australia, was living alone in Harlem: swiping for love. Within hours on a Fall day, he swiped, texted, called and had dinner with Sean -- a leader in retail and hospitality. Two worlds collided and coalesced over margaritas. Sean, the showman, turned up on Colin's stoop at Christmas with 10 bags of gifts. Colin, more conservative, was making a joint financial budget for a future home together. Love blossomed once the math mathed, and maps mapped.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

With the sounds of the waves of Bronte beach crashing outside the kitchen window, we were cracking jokes, laughing and stumbling over Chinese with Colin's extended family. Colin's grandmother taught us how to make Vietnamese pork meatballs. Sean got to show off and his own skills with his sides of collard greens and candied yams. The kitchen was a lively (and loud!) mosaic of cultures. We don't have a lot of living elders left. While we were folding dumplings, we locked eyes. This was special.

What would you do with $20,000?

We may look or sound different a typical family. But our values and guiding star have always been synonymous with the American dream and values. $20,000 would go towards starting the family we've always dreamed of through surrogacy. The love we have for each other and the child we’ll raise together is beyond a love story -- it's an entire library. This money isn’t just about a new life; it’s about giving our hearts a home to grow, nurture, and pour love into.
