We met through our parents and became friends in high school. Colin left for the Navy but we stayed close friends. He was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia (a rare auto-immune blood disease) while in the Navy and was sent home for treatment. I visited him in the hospital, and our friendship grew into love. Once he recovered, Colin asked me out and I said yes. Within a week, we knew we’d found our forever and we’ve been together ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory is finding out we were pregnant. After Colin went through chemo and radiation, we didn’t think it was possible. We were still in college and scared, but we were so grateful. That surprise turned into our beautiful baby girl and reminded us miracles do happen.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d spend $20,000 finishing up the home renovations that we had to put on pause. We had just bought our house in August of 2024 and had just finished demo-ing our kitchen, tearing up the floors, and trying to replace the ceiling when we were blind sided. Colin was diagnosed with Leukemia in October of 2024, a month after we bought our house, due to complications from his Aplastic Anemia treatment. We hope to finish our house up, and maybe go a celebration trip when Colin is cancer free.
