I believe we were meant to meet like the red string theory, and COVID was Cupid. I came home early from Southeast Asia, and Colby moved back to Oregon from Santa Barbara. A new coworker said, ‘You have to meet him.’ At 21, I wasn’t looking for love, but I went to River Pig in Portland. I shook 8 hands, his was last. We’ve always loved rom-coms, maybe we were manifesting one. Five years later, he still looks at me the same. Like a movie.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory is our Montana road trip an excuse for a wedding turned into days of just us. I was sick most of the drive, but he stopped at every viewpoint, got me fresh cherries, and we stayed near Glacier National Park. That trip sparked so many more. But honestly, being home now with our senior dog and the life we’ve built feels like the best memory of all, and it just keeps getting better.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, we’d finally start building the life we dream about: remodel a road trip van to chase new adventures, invest in my dental program, and after Colby’s recent proposal we can bring our loved ones together for the wedding that marks the beginning of it all.
