Connect How did your love story begin?

My childhood best friend since we were 3 years old and I reconnected as I was graduating high school. He told me he had the most perfect guy for me. The only catch was how old I would date and I told him 22. He said he was 23 and I told him “oh what’s one more year”. And the rest is history. Owen and myself have been together for 4 years, and on august 17th married for 1 year.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We were only 6 months into dating I had rushed out of work to Lowe’s to gather garden supplies. Owen had lost his dad in 2013 so I thought it’d be nice to spruce his burial site up. It was at 7 pm and getting dark, as I rushed to the cemetery. I realized I had not bought a garden tool so I used my snow broom to dig out a perimeter for the rocks. The next day I blindfolded Owen and brought him over to the site. The amount of appreciation I saw through his tears, I knew he was my person.

What would you do with $20,000?

Although we have been married for almost a year Owen and myself haven’t been able to buy ourselves a home. Due to the rising costs and our love of travel we’ve decided to live with my parents. My dad 3 years ago asked Owen to move in with us behind my back when he found out that we’d been planning on moving. My dad didn’t want to lose me so he gained another. In our appreciation for living with them we wanted to do some renovations to fix up our big family’s home.
