Connect How did your love story begin?

I played in a band with some friends that Rae knew. We had never formally met but had been around each other,until one night in the summer of 2018 we met at a show I was playing in Brooklyn. We connected from the first conversation. A few months later, Rae was visiting Philadelphia, where I lived, every few weeks to do research for their thesis work at school. In November we had our “first date”. In December I had my roommates throw a winter solstice party, Rae and I became official that night.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

In May of 2020 we adopted our dog Jolene. She was rescued from a kill shelter in North Carolina. We had only seen one photo of her online, she kinda looked like Lady Bird from King of the Hill and was described as medium size. When we went to pick her up and she was brought out I exclaimed “that is a big dog!”. (She’s stocky and long!) Jolene is the sweetest and most pretty, she’s got that ASPCA face. She is our best friend and everyone’s girlfriend.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’ve dreamed of buying a house for years but have never been in a position to do so. Raemond is working like crazy, and I’m living between Philly and New Haven as I am currently in graduate school full time. Raemond is holding it down as the breadwinner in our household since I am not working. We would use the money towards a down payment on a home when I finish school in May.
