We met in a Saturday morning bowling class in college and became fast friends. One night at a nightclub, “Shut Up and Dance” started playing. I grabbed Mark’s hand and asked him to dance — and in that moment, everything changed. Two weeks later, we were engaged. Since 1985, we’ve built a life full of love, four amazing kids, and now we’re getting ready to welcome our first grandchild. It all started with one dance and a spark that never faded.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We honeymooned in Hawaii, and every time we got into the car, “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys played. Now, every time we hear it, we’re taken back to those magical days—falling in love to the rhythm of a steel drum band. It’s been our song ever since.
What would you do with $20,000?With my husband’s career change, we had to move far from our sons for work. Now, our biggest goal is to move back closer to them—especially with our first grandchild on the way. Our boys dream of buying land and creating a family compound where we can all be together. We’re all saving to make it happen, and a $20K boost would bring us one step closer to turning that dream into a reality.
