We both married our best friend. We truly love each other and want to experience every part of life together.
We would like to thank you for supporting Chris and Carmen in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met in Blacksburg, Virginia. Chris was a VT grad student, and I had just graduated from college and started my first real job. We were both 22 years old at the time. Our first date was at the Rivermill Bar and Grill in downtown Blacksburg. He was the first guy I ever dated, and we clicked immediately. After that first date, we kept spending all our time together, and now we are married, so our love story is very special to us.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We got engaged on the beach, just the two of us. That was very special. We eloped in the mountains in 2020 and later did a road trip honeymoon in the western part of the USA, visiting multiple national parks. We have many memories of exploring new places, as we love to travel together as often as possible. But the absolute best memory we share as a couple is welcoming our son together and becoming parents in March of last year. That experience has been the best memory of our time as a couple.
What would you do with $20,000?I am going back to school to become a nurse. This would help our family immensely during a time when I will be unable to work as much. We also have a 15-month-old son, and this money could help us to start putting something away for his future.
