Connect How did your love story begin?

Our love story began when he took my sister out. She mentioned to him that she was also going to date other guys. He kept looking at me and he told her, "if that's the case I'm asking your sister out I hope you don't mind." She graciously stepped aside to allow our budding attraction to bloom and 3 months later we were married and have been together ever since. He has been my saving grace from an abusive mother. He is the love of my life and I can't imagine life without him.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

After 42 years there have been so many wonderful adventures!! He has made so many of them possible. Without him there would have never been our many Smoky Mountain excursions, no 3 day trip in a big truck to California, no trips to the Ark in Kentucky, no working together as hazmat techs for 2 years in DC following the anthrax scare that rocked America, no buying our first home, no children and grandkids to celebrate. We have loved them all and we are not finished making more!!

What would you do with $20,000?

Help a few well deserving people that have helped us along the way!! Where would we be without family and friends who are unselfish in giving of time and resources. Help our church! We are a small congregation but God has allowed us to do great things with little. And lastly, build us a porch. Ain't nothing no better than sitting on a porch listening to the birds early in the morning and thanking God for His many wonderful blessings.
