Connect How did your love story begin?

We met 33 years ago through mutual friends. Although we did not start dating for more than 12 years later, we were good friends. Cathy had married someone else during that time, and when that marriage broke up, we started hanging out more and eventually decided to start dating. Having a foundation of many years of friendship made our relationship easy. A few years later, Larry proposed while we were on a trip to NYC while on a gondola ride in Central Park.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It is so hard to narrow down one favorite memory. We have raised 2 amazing young men from Cathy's first marriage, and been on many adventures with them through scouting, and many other amazing vacation trips. Our first trip together as a family was to Walt Disney World, and it was amazing to experience that all together and see it through our boys' young eyes. Being a blended family and being able to get along so well through a divorce is a blessing too.

What would you do with $20,000?

Now that our boys are adults, it is hard to get us all together on a vacation. We would like to take some of the winnings and go on another trip with them to make more memories before they start their own families. I would even love for that trip to be a mission trip to Kenya. Larry and I got to experience a great mission trip last fall, and I would love for the boys to be able to have the experience to give back in a different country. The rest we would put away towards retirement.
