Connect How did your love story begin?

I met Cameron at his going-away party—his best friend invited me because he liked my sister (they’re now married!). I’d never met Cameron before, but when he told me why he was leaving NY, I was moved to tears. I took his hand and told him he was the most genuine person I’d ever met. He looked at me like no one had ever complimented him before. As he walked me to my car, he said his only regret from 10 years in NY was not meeting me sooner.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Three months after we met, Cameron reached out and we talked daily for weeks. He was heading to Boston for a wedding and suggested a day trip. He flew in, then took a ferry, two buses, and a train to NYC—just so we could drive to Boston together. At midnight under a bell tower, as the bells rang, he asked to be my boyfriend. I said yes, and we shared our first kiss on our first date. It’s still our favorite memory.

What would you do with $20,000?

Cameron and I are getting married on September 6! We’re dreaming of a simple, backyard wedding surrounded by our closest family and friends. Right now, we’re both renting with roommates and don’t yet have a place to call our own—so the money would go toward helping me move to California, to help get us on our feet, and be able to find a place to live together.
