We met in April 1982 and haven’t been apart since. Married since 7/7/84, we’ve raised two incredible adults and now have six grandchildren.
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
In 1982, I was a student at SDSU. I had just completed a brutal semester (21 units, working 30 hours per week). For fun, I liked to go out dancing on the weekends and my favorite local band was The Siers Brothers. I’d go wherever they were playing and dance the night away! Well, April of 1982, I showed up to dance and ran into an acquaintance who was with a guy I’d seen around but hadn’t met. He couldn’t dance because he was recovering from an accident, so instead we talked until the bar closed.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?I was an exchange student to Brazil in high school and had always wanted to take my husband there to see where I lived and to meet my Brazilian family. We spent most of our lives just getting by, but eventually we were able to do it. In 2016, 40 years after I lived there, I took my husband. Incredible trip!
What would you do with $20,000?I would probably take a romantic trip to Bora Bora with my boo. He’d probably invest a portion in more real estate. That’s what makes this marriage work. We counterbalance each other!
