Brian and I met through volleyball. We worked at a volleyball camp together. My dad was a volleyball coach and ran this camp each summer. I knew Brian because he coached with my dad and our sisters played on a team together. We were in college, and then at the end of camp week Brian asked me on a date and the rest was history! Brian proposed to me on a sand court at Iowa State University where we played 2’s together. We got married 2 years later!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Being parents is our greatest joy together! We are thankful to God for blessing us with two boys, and a daughter in heaven that was stillborn at almost 24 weeks. We honor her every year. Family means everything to us. We wouldn’t be who we are without them. The ups and downs of being a parent are what draws us closer together and makes us stronger, drawing us closer to the Lord who gives us strength.
What would you do with $20,000?We are both teachers and have a very tight income month to month. We both work extra jobs and give so much of our time to help and support others. We never went on a honeymoon and long for a trip together as a family. We would donate to our church and schools, towards Turner Syndrome Society of the US in honor of our daughter, and also pay off some debt. This would be such a blessing to us!
