His friend from preschool and my friend from college went on a blind date and became a couple. They attended a party my husband threw and she noticed he was playing PlayStation hockey with the Pittsburgh Penguins. She told him: I know a girl who LOVES the Penguins. They set us up on a blind date. He wore red jeans and a T-shirt that said: do you wanna see my lizard. We had a great time and he didn't call me for two weeks. When he did call we talked the whole night and the rest is history.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We had hit a rough patch in our marriage, were seeing a therapist and during this time had decided to go to the Bonnaroo Music Festival. We ended up discovering the band Trampled By Turtles and experienced a transcendent set by Dawes. It was a renewal for us, a reaffirmation of our friendship which had been the core of our relationship and we'd gotten away from it. We've always loved sharing music together and it seemed right that this experience helped us get back on track.
What would you do with $20,000?Our greatest achievement, our son, is in college, so we'd finance some of that. We'd fix up our house and if there was some money left we'd take a trip, even if it was just back to the B&B where we had our honeymoon.
