Fresh out of long marriages, we were both a little lost. My coworkers made me a dating profile for fun. I sent him my info, thinking, “What if he’s a serial killer?” He wasn’t. He was the one. My last first date.

After a formal event, Brian picked me up. I wanted to grab a change of clothes at my house, but I’d locked myself out. My kids had the spare key, but weren’t home. So, in full formal wear, I decided to crawl through my doggie door. Brian, who I’d just started dating, ended up helping push me through. Nothing says romance like heels, a dress, and getting shoved through a dog door by your new boyfriend. We still laugh about it!

Family means everything to us, and their support has meant the world. With a grandchild now, we’d love to set aside something special for her future. Taking our little family on a trip- just to slow down, make memories, and enjoy the simple moments- would be the greatest gift of all!
