How did your love story begin?

When we were in college, we first saw each other at an informational meeting for a study abroad program in Ireland. Months later, we ran into one another at a meeting for all students going abroad. I asked her if she was going to Ireland. She said no, not remembering me. I sulked away to the back of the lecture hall in embarrassment. She kept eyeing me from the front row. After the meeting, she enthusiastically introduced herself. I knew. I invited her to dinner, and the rest is history.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

When we got married, we went on a honeymoon trip back to where she studied abroad in the UK. We did a bar crawl across the ancient campus. In the fog of midnight and in the dim glow of the street lamps, we recited our wedding vows to one another that we had saved for the right moment. It felt like the culmination of our longstanding relationship. We grew up together and beside one another through our early adulthood. There we were, where we began, ready to start the next chapter of our lives.

What would you do with $20,000?

Last year, we bought a century old fixer upper in rural Texas and welcomed our first child, Marion. With this money, we would do some renovations to make the home more comfortable for her, start a college fund for her, and maybe even take a little vacation with our friends!
