We met in high school as acquaintances and graduated in 1993. He went on to marry and have his son Bobby. I also had my daughter Lexy, but never married. In 2002, we reconnected by chance, both single and not really looking, but as fate should have it, we went on our first date. And the rest is history. Inseparable ever since. We married in 2004 and had our daughter Kayla in 2006. So now our family is “yours, mine and ours” when we describe ourselves and our kids are best of friends.

One of my favorite memories, and there are so many, was when we bought our first home together. We spent countless nights, after work, painting and making it our own. One night we went to work on the house and Bobby was fumbling with the keys. He was acting strange, but I brushed it off. We then went downstairs to work on things and he was quiet and acting strange. So I finally asked, “what’s going on?” and it was then that he got down on one knee to ask me to marry him. He was just nervous.

We have many dreams and we try to fulfill them as best as we can, but the extra money would help us achieve one of our goals of being snow birds. We would use it towards a condo in the south so that we can escape the winters together….. and it would help with our daughter’s college tuition, so there’s that!
