The story goes, Bob told his future father-in-law he wouldn’t tie the knot unless Elvis made an appearance. No King, no ring!
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
Our love story began at a newspaper. He was a reporter and I was hired to write obituaries, of all things! We hit it off and started dating. After the summer ended, I returned to college, but we stayed together—and the rest is history, including having Elvis at our wedding. Legend has it that Bob told Chris’ Dad he wasn’t saying “I do” unless The King showed up to the wedding. So when The King strutted into the reception, Chris was floored! Check out the photo below to see her reaction.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? One of our favorite memories is a trip to Toronto during a college break—we fell in love with the city. 6 years later, we got married in November and chose to honeymoon there in the middle of winter. Everyone thought we were crazy for picking Toronto in the snow, but we loved it. We embraced the cold, went ice skating and made memories we still cherish. We've continued to return to Toronto and have explored other cities and towns across Canada together—it’s become a special part of our story.
What would you do with $20,000?I’d give the $20,000 to my husband so he could buy a new car. He’s generous to a fault—after our daughter graduated from college, he gave her his SUV without hesitation. Now he’s driving a 2008 Chevy with no AC, which is brutal during Pittsburgh’s 90-degree days. One of the doors doesn’t even open. He’s always putting others first and I’d love to do something just for him. The Chevy would be donated to Vehicles for Charity, sold at auction and 80% of the proceeds would go to a nonprofit.
