Our friends saw what we hadn’t yet and set us up. After one dinner and an off-road Jeep ride, we were hooked. We dated for almost five years—though we both knew much sooner. I waited until I could buy her the perfect ring, and the moment I had it, I proposed over Thai food in a mall food court. Not traditional, but it was exactly us.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We once stayed too long on a Jeep trail and got locked behind the gate. Instead of panicking, we crawled over a berm and rock-crawled inch by inch through a dry, boulder-filled creek bed to get out. It wasn’t easy, but we came out unscathed—laughing and stronger for it. That moment reminded us we can get through anything, as long as we’re in it together.
What would you do with $20,000?We never took a real honeymoon—life hit fast and we dove into raising our beautiful daughters. We’ve joked that someday we’ll finally escape for a snorkeling trip, just the two of us, where no one yells “Mom!” mid-sunset. With $20,000, we’d trade lunchboxes for luggage and finally take that long-overdue honeymoon with fins, sun, and maybe even a nap.
