I had just moved back to ABQ, and he had just moved to PHX. He stayed at my place as my roommate’s guest during a Christmas visit. We met and flirted, but that was it. A few months later, he came back. While out, I was ready to leave, so I found him and asked if he was ready to go too. He thought I was flirting. Once home, I was saying goodnight, and he kissed me, and it melted both of us. Five months later, I was in a U-Haul with my/our dogs headed to PHX. The heart knows when it knows.

How do you pick just one moment? We've had highs and lows, and held each other through it all. We love to travel and explore. But if we had to choose, it’s how we met, but also our proposal. Our proposal was on a beach at sunset in Dominical, Costa Rica. Danny was so nervous that he put the ring on the wrong hand. We laughed, cried, and I said yes. Hell yes! Now we're about to celebrate 9 years married and 12 years together. Through it all, we always choose us, choose each other.

We’d use $20,000 to grow our local Albuquerque apparel brand, which celebrates the Duke City and gives back to the community. We’d invest in new products, expand our reach, and create more local impact. We'd also pay some debt and put some aside to keep building a life we love and enjoy every day together for years to come.
