I came late to class one day and my usual spot was taken. When choosing a new seat I could’ve either sat by an older woman, where I’d be able to focus in class, or by this really cute guy. Obviously I chose Ben! After talking all class and not paying attention, I invited him to my apartment. It was then we figured out we had met TWICE before! Once in middle school honors choir and once in high school when my friend was “involved” with him! I told him It was meant to be at that point haha!

We were at his family Christmas in the first year of us dating, and it was maybe my third time meeting his whole family. His grandpa and I were chatting for a while and at the end of our conversation he asked me “so when’s the wedding? You’re part of the family!” I told Ben about it later that night and we talked about getting married and what we want in life. We both agreed then that we are each other’s person and we’re going to experience life together. No proposal yet but I know it’s coming!

At this point in our lives we’ve accepted that we’ll probably never be able to afford a home with our income and the amount we pay for rent, bills, and debt payments we make. Though I’m still looking at listings in hopes of leaving the apartment life someday. $20,000 could actually make buying a home a reality for us! Even if it just helps us with a downpayment, it would change it from “maybe when we’re 30” to “maybe next year”!
