We met at a bar in 1999 in the Fort Worth Stockyards (DFW - Texas) through a mutual friend. Austin asked her if she had any hot, single friends. She said “Yes, and I know where she’ll be tonight.” He knew he was coming to meet me, but I didn’t know my friend was bringing him to me. It was a one sided blind date. We’ve been together since that evening - over 26 years ago!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?My favorite memory is attending a marriage conference in January 2013. We walked into that conference two very broken individuals harboring some deep secrets. We hit our knees for the Lord and surrendered our lives to Him. Forgiveness and healing began to take place. Our hearts changed - towards each other and within our marriage. It was there we learned the value of investing in your marriage. We now get to share our story at conferences and mentor couples walking through difficult times.
What would you do with $20,000?Take a vacation to somewhere beautiful! Austin loves the snow and mountains. I’m an ocean beach girl. Guess we’ll have to take two vacations! Then, help pay for our son’s wedding (marrying his high school sweetheart who we love!) and pay off some of our bills.
