We met while working opposite shifts as security officers for Friendship Village in the summer of 2021. During orientation, they joked that many couples have been made within those walls, and they were right! We rarely worked together, so our friendship and the beginning of us was slow. I learned how to make coffee because he liked it, and I would make him scavenger hunts to pass time when things were slow. John was oblivious and thought my interest was me just being friendly.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our first “date”. I needed help feeding the horses and moving hay bales. He worked from 6am until 4pm, went to his daughter’s hockey practice and then met up with me at 8am. We chatted and watched the sunset in the back field. Neither of us wanted to leave. I followed him to Walmart and we spoke until 5am. He still had to go home, shower and go back to work! Even after being awake 36hrs, he still made time to see me after work before going home for some much needed sleep.
What would you do with $20,000?We want to put the money down on a plot of land where we can build on our dreams together, for our future and his girls futures.
