Connect How did your love story begin?

Artie and I have known each other for over 40 years. We went to school together but never dated. About 8 years ago, we started hanging out in the same friend group. I had no idea he had feelings for me—until one cold winter night. We got in the car, and he reached over and held my hand. I pulled away, confused, but he grabbed it again. I just sat there thinking, “Artie Parker is holding my hand!” And that’s where it all began.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of my absolute favorite memories with Artie has to be planning our wedding. We’ve both been married before, and honestly, I was fine with just going to the Justice of the Peace. But Artie? He wasn’t having it. He said, “Nope—we’re having a BANG of a party!” And he meant it. That man worked his tail off to give me everything I ever wanted in a wedding. We originally planned for 50 to 100 guests… and ended up with over 200 people at our reception! It turned into this beautiful, chaotic, love

What would you do with $20,000?

If we had $20,000, we’d use it toward our dream of moving to the country. Our current home isn’t in the safest area, but it’s ours, and we’ve made the best of it. We’d love a farmhouse with buildings for Artie’s business—and yes, a donkey, two cows, and some goats for me! The money would help as a down payment on a new home and possibly assist some family members too.
