Connect How did your love story begin?

We were first introduced at a community event Ariel organized called FLANNEL U-Haulidays, but didn't remember each other's names. However, Jazzy's photo with Sapphic Santa was Ariel's favorite from the event--and when they met again two weeks later at a roller rink, she remembered and told her (and Jazzy's crush began). They developed a friendship over the next year that grew stronger during the pandemic, and in September of 2020 Jazzy revealed her crush over drinks at a craft beer bar.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We both absolutely love Halloween and have done many creative couples costumes in our time together--Lisle Von Rhuman and Helen Sharp from Death Becomes Her, Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, the Joker and Catwoman, Chucky and Freddy Krueger, Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz. We plan our costumes all year long and are really looking forward to this year's costumes of Cogsworth and Lumiere, and are hoping to do Ariel's dream of Audrey and Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors next year!

What would you do with $20,000?

We had an incredibly hard year in 2024; Ariel lost her grandfather and her dad in the span of 8 months, and Jazzy's dad got very ill and was hospitalized for several months. We would use the money to go on a much-needed overseas vacation in an effort to heal and celebrate life--and our 5-year anniversary (September 24, 2025)!
