How did your love story begin?

Our story began in Buffalo, when we both entered our first year of school. We became friends after finding out we both like rock climbing and would go to the gym with a group of classmates after lectures. During a snowstorm that winter, classes were cancelled and we were stuck at home. Zack jokingly suggested a stroll through the park and was surprised when I told him to get his snow boots on. We trudged through the snowy streets talking for hours, eventually both admitting we liked each other.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

This past year, I saw there was an Iron Maiden concert in Pittsburgh on Zack's birthday. I asked his mom for her thoughts, and she excitedly said their whole family was coincidentally going to be in Pittsburgh that weekend for a family party. It's clear that Zack trusts me (maybe a bit too much) as he was willing to ask his attending for the evening off and get in the car no questions asked. Three hours later he was surprised by his family who he hadn't seen in months plus his favorite band!

What would you do with $20,000?

The responsible answer is to say that we'd use the $20,000 to start paying off student loans... but, because of how busy medical school is we've also never been able to take a trip together as a couple. Whenever we're burnt out from studying or tired from an 24 hour shift (unfortunately a real thing), one of us always says "don't worry, soon enough we'll graduate and be laying on a beach in Italy". So the more fun answer is that we'd use it to travel together before we start residency!
